It looks as though Product Hunt has removed the Founders Club feature and replaced this with a new “deals marketplace”. Some of the deals appear to be free for Product Hunt members and you can “claim” them just by clicking the claim button. Most of the free deals appear to be existing offers for new customers for the products listed – but useful nonetheless.
Perhaps the more interesting offer within the marketplace is the “Marketplace Pro” option. The charging model is a little confusing, but it seems to be an annual charge at $60 per month – equating to a yearly fee of $720. This is the same as how founders club worked previously – so you sign-up for a year and get access to the deals offered.
Although some of the deals look generous you have to be clear as to whether you can claim them as many are for new customers only. I did also spot that a few aren’t actually current, or at least haven’t been update like the Canva 20% off subscription is from 2020-2021. I suspect this is because they are hangovers from the Founders Club days.
Filter Search and Find the Deal for You
On the main marketplace page, they’ve added in some filters so you can quickly see “free” ones! As well as those you’ve claimed already in addition some category filters. Once you click claim deal the box changes to show that you’ve claimed the deal – even if you haven’t actually claimed the offer, which is slightly annoying.
If you go through to the Marketplace Pro option you can also see a few icons show that it’s either a new product listing, whether Product Hunt uses, if it was a launch partner and whether it’s popular right now. Not particularly useful but a nice bit of UI that fits with the emoji’s that are used across the rest of the site.
